Perimeter systems for cold halls with soccer court
Cold halls or open-air halls combine the advantages of a sports field and a sports hall and can be used flexibly and multifunctionally. While a sports hall is a heated room, in an open-air hall you are virtually outside. Nevertheless, the roof protects against various weather conditions and adverse external influences. This can be an advantage both in summer and winter: The hall offers protection from increased sunlight in summer and also protects from rain and snow in winter. Thus, athletes can basically train outside without the external weather conditions affecting the sports operation too much. Thus, a year-round sports operation is possible, which, for example, also benefits the relief of conventional sports halls. artec® has received a new order for 4 perimeter systems for cold halls from the company Keller Tersch, which will be used for the outdoor halls planned in Braunschweig. These include an artificial turf playing field as well as a barrier system supplied by artec® including ball catching equipment and recreational goals. This basically creates a covered soccer court. The perimeter system with ball catcher encloses the entire playing field. The artificial turf pitch can be accessed via doors that are integrated into the side of the recreational goals.
Soccer Court from artec®
The Soccer Court for outdoor halls in the size 40 x 20 m has the following technical features:
Perimeter system:
- Circumferential playing field perimeter
- Perimeter elements made of weather-resistant sandwich panels
- The outer sides of the elements are made of galvanized steel sheet with polyester paint coating
- Perimeter height of 1.05 m
- Perimeter thickness of 60 mm
- Length of the boards varies between 4 m and 5 m (front sides / long sides)
Ball catching device:
- Circumferential ball catching device
- The ball catching device ends in total at a height of 5 m
- Ball catching net (4 individual nets) made of 4 mm thick polypropylene with edge reinforcement in the color black, 45 x 45 mm mesh size
Both the perimeter elements and the ball catching net are fixed to the hall steel girders. The equipment of the playing field also includes 2 recreational goals in the size of 4 x 2 m, which have a projection of 1.5 m. These goals are made of aluminum (80 x 80 mm square profile), are fully welded and are therefore extremely robust and durable. In addition, the goals have the following features:
- Net attachment to the crossbar and goalposts via a milled net suspension
- ARENA net safety device for goal crossbar and post as anti-theft protection
- Fixation of the net to the ground frame by means of net holding rods made of aluminum
- Lateral, lockable entrance and exit to the playing field, handicapped-accessible
- Net can be pushed up at the back to provide access for care vehicles
Future of sports facilities
The construction of outdoor halls or cold halls could be of greater importance in the future. The reason for this are various changes in the population, which require a future-oriented adaptation of sports facilities. These include the following aspects, for example:
