Since training with hurdles places high demands on the athlete’s coordination as well as their agility and technique, this training application optimizes and automates important movement sequences.
Competition hurdles
Athletics hurdles for professional hurdling are made of aluminum at artec® Sportgeräte. Compared to hurdles made of steel, hurdles made of aluminum have the advantage of being lighter in weight. To ensure that the athletics hurdles stand securely, counterweights are attached to the base. Depending on the height set, the counterweights must also be adjusted to prevent the hurdle from tipping over. Both the height and the counterweight can be adjusted to six different positions. Each can be conveniently adjusted with the help of a brass lever. The adjusted height can easily be established by the scale which is embedded in the profile. The competition hurdles can thus be used and adjusted quickly and flexibly during the competition.
The material of the hurdle batten is also an important quality feature for hurdles. At artec® this consists of high-quality ash wood. This has a very high stability and is at the same time extremely elastic. To ensure that the hurdles are clearly visible to the athletes in the competition, the batten should also be painted in a contrasting color. To keep the risk of injury as low as possible, we produce our hurdles without sharp or protruding edges (rounded profiles). Our competition hurdles are TÜV-tested, have the necessary World Athletics certificates and are designed and manufactured at our company site in Melle, so that we can guarantee continuous further development at the highest technical level. This is shown not at least by the fact that our products from the athletics assortment are used again and again at national and international competitions!
Guidelines in competition
In hurdling, the distance to be crossed is either 100 meters (women) or 110 meters (men) or even 400 meters. On this distance there are 10 hurdles each. he height of the hurdles is adjusted to the respective age group and gender. The maximum adjustable hurdle height is required for the 110 meter run and measures 106.7 centimeters. Our competition hurdles are of course adjustable to all common heights in athletics. As already described, this is done quickly and easily via a brass lever.
Training hurdles
Our hurdles for training are also made of aluminum. The training hurdles are fully welded and have rounded edges to reduce the risk of injury to the athletes. The hurdles can be used for both club training and school sports. In this case, the batten is not made of ash wood, but plastic. Just like the hurdles for competition, the training hurdles are adjustable in height so that it can be individually adapted to the athlete and the training situation.
