Small sports fields for multiple use
Two new small sports fields with many uses were installed in the newly designed sports and civic park in Baesweiler. The playing fields offer space and opportunities to play football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton. Not only can they be used in a variety of ways, but also all year round. In combination with other sporting offerings such as a skate park and various fitness points, the park offers an excellent range of sporting activities.
Small sports fields with grey boards
The small sports fields have a size of 20 x 13 m. The pitch boards are made of sandwich hard foam panels with sheet steel edging and have a height of 1 m. The grey colour of the boards gives the soccer courts a modern, timeless look. The courts are each equipped with two goals. The aluminium goals are fully welded and have a closed back frame made of aluminium bars. In addition, these have a side entrance so that the goals serve as entrances and exits to the pitch.
To prevent the balls from flying out of the pitch, the small sports fields have an integrated ball catcher with a height of 3 m above the board. Up to a height of 2 m above the boards, the ball catcher consists of a wire mesh fence. The last meter of the ball catcher is then realised by a black ball catcher net. Both the mesh fence and the net are attached to robust steel ball catching posts. These are firmly mounted in ground sockets and ensure a high level of stability for the entire small sports field.
Equipment of the playing fields
The two small sports fields essentially differ in terms of surface and equipment features. This results in different possibilities of use:
Small sports field for football: The first court is equipped with goals and has an artificial turf. This makes it ideal for playing football.
Multi-sports field: The second court does not have artificial turf, but a synthetic surface as a surface. In addition to goals, it is equipped with a total of six basketball hoops and a volleyball facility in a combination design. Thus, the small sports field can be used for football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton. Due to the variety of equipment on the playing field, the citizens of Baesweiler can play many sports in a small space.
