The weighting for soccer goals by additional weights is a very important issue regarding the tilt safety of soccer goals. Time and again, unsecured soccer goals topple over and cause (sometimes serious) injuries to players, as was shown, for example, by the much-discussed goal accident in Augustdorf. But that does not have to be! The anti-tilt device from artec Sportgeräte is an optimal solution for the safety of mobile soccer goals. The weighting of the goals is created by means of additional weights attached to the ground frame. The additional weights are embedded in an aluminum profile as a steel core filling and each weight unit is equipped with two foamed (puncture-proof) pneumatic wheels. The perfectly matched ground clearance of the additional weights or the anti-tilt unit enables optimal traversability of the soccer goals on the sports field due to the excellent running properties. In contrast to many other systems, it is also possible to drive through troughs, for example, without any problems. The artec anti-tilt device is also excellently suited for retrofitting existing soccer goals from other manufacturers, as a major order placed with artec by the city of Cologne has shown. There, more than 500 mobile soccer goals in the entire city area were retrofitted with the artec anti-tilt system across all manufacturers in 2017. A great proof of quality for our anti-tilt system!

For the safety of soccer goals, the technical requirements are essentially defined by the regulations of the municipal accident associations and DIN/EN 748. There, it is specified that mobile soccer goals must be equipped either by weighting them with additional weights ( anti-tilt devices) or with ground anchors (e.g. ground sockets, anchors, etc.) in order to ensure a sufficiently safe stability. But what additional weight is actually needed for different goals to safely prevent them from tipping over?
It is important to know that the required weighting by additional weights depends on the type of goal as well as the rear projection. The following physical principle applies: the smaller the rear projection, the heavier the additional weights for weighting the soccer goals! For example, a free-standing Soccer goal with a lower projection of 1.0 m, an additional weight of 200 kg is required to safely prevent tipping and to safely guarantee the stability of 1.100 N prescribed by DIN/EN 748 for free-standing soccer goals! In contrast, an additional weight of 100 kg is already sufficient for a lower projection of 2.0 m.
